On Sunday 13th a devastating fire happened at Startblok Riekerhaven in Amsterdam. One building got completely destroyed. The residents who just started to build up the first part of their independent life saw it all go up in flames.
Within a few hours they lost their homes, childhood memories, pets and other personal belongings and basic needs.
Startblok Riekerhaven is a social housing project where young people between 18 and 27 can live within a close community. A lot of residents are doing everything to help their neighbors who lost everything. But due to the extent of the damage this fire caused, we need all the help we can possibly get. The donated money will be divided and given to the them so they can buy their basic needs like passports, food and clothes. The donated money will be given to them around the 25th of december 2022. Since the goal may not be reached before the 24th of December, any personal and sub-group GoFundMe created may be taken into account since they already have more than the residents who do not have a fundraiser. That does not include if someone has their insurance or not, family or friends where they could get support or not. This is organized by 6 residents of Startblok Riekerhaven and this is the solution we made for now since there is no extra support. Hope you all understand.
